We had a good hard working afternoon polishing our presentations and we greatly enjoyed hearing Debbie and Jack's account of meeting the residents of 88 Narrow Street on Monday. Debbie and Jack had been to meet Rozelle and Dick Raynes and learnt about their lives in Limehouse. Rozelle had also written a book "Limehouse Lil" about here time in Limehouse over the last 40 years or so. Another visit was paid to the Grapes (great chips!) and again, much local information picked up from the staff and regulars. Sorry I could not join you on the day Debbie. Indeed, very impressed by the fact that when Debbie couldn't find the book, she hunted down the author! Really looking forward to the presentations on Wed.
And it's great to see that on top of the hard work you all have been putting in to the project, new friendships have been made too.
I like to think that's what volunteerings all about!
