Week 5 - 24/10/07This is a featured page

Limekiln Wharf 1935Week 5 saw Jeanne, Debbie, Jack and Carol meeting at the Museum in Docklands for a walk around Limehouse to soak up some atmosphere and learn a little of the area.

The area around Limekiln Wharf has obviously seen a a lot of redevelopment, but we were delighted to find some of the old warehouses still standing and in good condition. Quite a few of the blocks of flats give some clue to the history of the Limekiln Wharf 1935
area, i.e. "Kiln Court"

Lunch was taken in the Grapes in Narrow Street and we found the information boards on a walk around the Limehouse Basin very informative.

Hi Guys,
Just a quick note from Korea. I'm really pleased that you had a good day on Wednesdayand I'm glad the weather seemed to hold off.
The Website is looking fantastic and your contributions are excellent. Keep them coming.
I mentioned the project and showing a still of the site in my presentation and te koreans were very interested in the idea of U3a, esp in the use of an open website to monitor progress. So who knows. we may get comments from Koreans too!
All the best and enjoy your session with Liz next week.
